Sigh, got a ticket

ILLEGAL right turn in a construction zone. 3 cars in front, all 3 of us make the right turn w/ me being last, and guess who the cop (who was hiding on the other side) pulls over. Yep, me =(

What does the ticket run, $70 for illegal turn and then double in construction so $140? Anyone received a similar ticket?

What a way to ruin the day, bah.

Re: Sigh, got a ticket

in my corolla beater, i made a left turn at 7:52 am at an intersection that said no left turns between 7-9 am.

Ticket cost me about $145. add the cost of traffic school and other fees, the ticket cost me $194.

construction zone ticket and you might be looking at over $200

there's a website somewhere that lists all the fees for traffic violations. do a search for traffic fees plus the county you are in and the site should show up.

most of the fine is due to all the fees they assess. The actual fine might be $40 or $50 bucks, but then they a bunch of stuff on like court fees, county tax, etc.

Sorry to hear that Wick. Was it posted, "NO Right Turn?" I hope it's not true, but I always thought "fines" were always doubled in construction zones. Keep us posted, and good luck!

Re: Sigh, got a ticket

No, I saw the sign and turned anyway. Everyone else was doing it! LOL

See the thing about that sign is that making a right turn doesn't pose any problem. 3 weeks ago someone was making a right turn before the sign was put up and a construction worker got hit. Is the city that blind to see that the construction worker should have been in his zone and not on the open road? So they decided to put the sign, have a cop hide, and ticket everyone. That day, they must have gotten at least 20 people NO JOKE. After I received my ticket, I went to home depot to pick up some things, then came back and saw where exactly the cop was hiding. Me and my friend were in the car just saying, "watch someone is going to make the right turn."

10 seconds later, someone does and the cop chases him. Oh well, those f*ckers will certainly meet their quota this month!

Yo Zack man dont sweat it. It might be a little expensive becuase you did it in construction zone. Where did you get the ticket?

Also if this is the first ticket you have gotten in the last 18 months then you can take traffic school. And may i recomend webtraffic school. When you get it in the mail and you go to pay request it. And let me know the sites they offer. I know of one that is 25 dollars and you can get it done within a couple of hours.

Re: Sigh, got a ticket

The main intent of the double-fines in construction zones is to get people to slow down and not endanger the workers.

Setting up a trap at an illegal turn like that sounds like the city was a little short on funds. Still, don't do the crime if you can't pay the fine.
