I'll be there too around 7AM with my G. My Z06 is getting headers installed in L.A. so I'l be bringing the G this time. See you all there!

I didn't see any of you guys. You did meet at Crystal Cove Promenade on the PCH correct?
Anyway on the way there I raced a Honda S2000 from a roll. To my surprise, I beat him! We both took off from the light under half throttle, not sure if we would race. He was ahead by about a car length at this point. At about 25 MPH I said screw it, what the hell, and dropped the hammer. I got sideways a bit going into 2nd, and caught up to him, at which point I heard his intake get louder and his VTEC kick in. Sounded like he had an aftermarket intake, because the intake roar was louder than stock. Well, through 2nd gear I proceed to pull about a car length on him. I hear him wind it to 9,000 RPMs, I shift to 3rd, and he's not catching up! Took it to 85, and shut it down, and tapped my brakes to let him know it was over. He proceeded to do a ricer flyby, which I expected since he was probably pissed that I beat him.
Honestly, I thought he would beat me. My car is bone stock. I at least thought it would be closer or that he would reel me back in at the upper end, but never happened. The G35's torque clearly won that race. By the time he got his engine spooled up to 9,000 RPM's, I had already pulled a car length on him rather quickly. That's one of the reasons I don't like S2000 motors: no torque, and not much power until above 7,000 RPMs. This race was a pretty good demonstration of that, because an S2000 should be faster than a G35.
If you were at the show, it was the silver S2000 with the carbon fiber hood that I ran. I've seen him there before, but don't know the dude.
