Anyone here do the av tuner install? Is there a good shop in OC that sells the unit and does the install?

 

the install is not too bad once you review the disassembly of the dash a few times. plus you get the gratification of doing it all yourself. i'm not much help b/c i don't know of any shops in socal that have done this, but i'm sure there are some out there.

here is a very detailed diy if you want to tackle taking apart the dash yourself. i believe there is a diy on the same site for an automatic as well. i just can't find the link atm. good luck.

oh and purchase the unit from iksardarg. he's top notch and will not find a better price without a huge groupbuy.

 

diy diy! its easy... there aren't wiring harnesses that work (i think), so you can pay al and eds like 60 to wire in the alpine harness, then everything else is plus and play easy. pulling out the passenger seat is cake, and then the floor's of the g35's are padded with thick-foam, which can be easily cut or removed to make room for the brain (and therefore not lift the carpet)...

to do it this way, you have to run all new wires to the speakers tho, which will improve your sounds quality (and is how all systems should be wired). running wires through the smj harness is made easy in the FAQ section of the DIY-sedan signal mirror install.

the factory service manuals are also all online and show you how to take the entire interior (and car for that matter) appart.
