the key to replacing tires with different sizes is to get close as possible to the OE tire overall diameter. you said that you are going to use your OE wheels (fr, 19x8.0 & rr, 19x8.5) and just get different tires. it seems like you want to get wider tires... since you're using your stock wheels, you can't get the same tire overall diameter as your stock tires.

Stock Tires:
225/40R19 = OD is 26.1 inches
245/40R19 = OD is 26.7 inches

+0 Up-Sizing:
245/35R19 = OD is 25.8 inches
265/35R19 = OD is 26.3 inches

Both tire sizes that I recommended are the widest you can go on 19x8.0 and 19x8.5. If you go with a lower aspect ratio on your rear tires, you speedometer reading will be way off as you increase volocity. If you want to have the same OD as your OE tire sizes, then you would have to buy wider wheels... at least 9.5-inches wide for the rear wheels to accomodate a 275/35R19 (OD is 26.6 to 26.7 inches depending on the tire manufacturer).

Hope this helps.

275 on the stock wheel will bulge too much.
From tire mfg charts, 275 fit 9" -11" with 9.5" nominal

265 tires are actually recommended for a 9-10.5" wheel. 255s are the widest recommended for 8.5".

You are actually right on 255. However, the OD on this tire width is only 26.0 inches. You can still use this as others have been mounting 275/30R19s, which has an OD of 25.5 inches (more than an inch off the OE tire size OD). I would still use a 265, but there might be a little sidewall bulge (but not that bad).

The diameter is not too bad. I just meant that 265s and 275s are a bit too wide for 8.5" wheel. The minimum recommended wheel width is 9".

How about 245-35 F and 255-40 R. I had the stock diameters @ 26.1 F and 26.9 R. With the setup I mentioned, you would be at 25.8 F and 27.1 R. This should also minimize fender gap if you are not lowered. Check Tire Rack for tires in this size combination. This will give you more contact patch and should also fit your stock rims with no issues.

This setup sounds good to me. The diameters are very close and the setup is still staggered.

Any objections?

This is my winter setup. I run these sizes with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S with no issues and it still looks good. Like I said before, I believe the Tire Rack has several choices in this size combo. You won't be disappointed.

I called up discount tire direct, they told me max width on 8in rim is 225? The guy I was talking to smoking crack? 8in tires can handle 245s right? I'm thinking of the same setup 245/35/19 and 255/40/19 Toyo T1Rs as well. Just dont' want to go into the dealership to mount them and have them say its not possible.

245 fits on a 8" rim according to toyo tires.

I'm going to try to get 245/35/19 and 255/40/19 tomorrow (monday) toyo T1R's

I'll let you guys know how it turns out
