Exclamation Need quick answer! (Mich PS2 size question)

Hey Fellas,

I placed my order at tirerack for Mich Pilot Sport PS2 tires to fit my OEM 18" coupe wheels (2004.5).

My stock wheels were 225/45R-18 and 245/45R-18. Only problem is that the PS2 doesn't come in the 245/45 size; in fact you have to go to 17" to get 45 profile height.

So I switched to lower profile 40 tires. And I bumped up the width to get the height closer (235/40 and 255/40). Here's the difference in wheel diameters:

before (stock)
front: 25.9"
rear: 26.8"

on order (new)
front: 25.4"
rear: 26.0"

So the new set of tires will be slightly smaller, but there is still stagger, but again not quite as much.

The speedo should be off about 2 mph at 65 mph - no big deal there.

Any issues with VDC/SLIP etc expected with this small change? Let me know how to go about fixing it if there is - the order hasn't shipped yet. The only thing I was debating was if I should have chosen the 225/40 to increase the stagger a bit more?

Yeah, just to confirm, I have 275/30/19 in the back and have no problems. You should be fine.
