Toyo Proxes T1-R vs. BFG G-Force KDW TT

I'm in the market for new tires, and I've read all the reviews and road tests I can find online and I have narrowed it down to the 2 above mentioned tires. I'm trying to decide between the two, so I was wondering if anyone can give me some personal input based on experience with either or both of these tires on the G coupe? I live in AZ, so I'm not really concerned about wet weather performance since we only get a few inches of rain a year. I don't ever race, but I do drive very aggressively. I'm just looking for a nice tire that will let me push the car to the limits on the streets, but also something that's not going to be too loud or uncomfortable. From what I've read I'm leaning towards the Toyo's because I've heard that the G-Force KDW are very loud.

Anybody have any input on these 2 tires?

Thanks!

I just orderd my t1r's I did it because I believe the bfg's will be louder and chunk more, wear more too. Oh t1r, softer sidewall, bfg harder sidwall

i have the KDW NT and they are loud. so if you're looking for a quiet tire look elsewhere, but they do handle very well.

On my previous car, i had BF G-force and i was very satisfied with it's performance. The best part of those wheels were they stick to the road like glue..Currently i have Toyo Ti-r which is not bad.

For me, the KWDs's were the only choice to get the tire sizes I wanted - 255/30/20 front on a 9 inch wide wheel and 285/30/20 on a 10.5 rear wheel. The may seem a lottle noisier, but that is the only thing I have heard about them.

My buddy has T1R's on his G and hates them because they break loose too easily. I don't have any personal experience with them though.

Another buddy loves his Nittos.

Some people are going to love the tires you hate while others will hate the tires you love.

I have both right now, on my different sets of 19's in the same sizes. KDW2 is much better in the dry, but noisy as hell.

Hey guys, thanks for all the input. The general idea I'm getting is that the BFG KDW will have better grip and a stiffer ride (due to the sidewall) but they're very loud, and the Toyos T1R's will have slightly less grip and a little softer ride and not too loud. So I think I'm gonna go with the Toyos, because I'm looking for something that's a nice balance between performance & comfort. I don't do AutoX or anything like that, but if I did then I would probably get the BFG for the superior grip. But I suppose I'm willing to sacrifice a little performance for a smoother & quiter ride.

I would get the Gooyear GS-D3 which is actually my first choice, but $329 compared to $179 a tire is a no-brainer.

ive owned both tires and the toyos have superior grip but will last least time because of a 280treadware compared to a 300 of the kdw

I assume the better handling you are experiencing with the Toyo's is probably due to the suspension upgrades that you have now compared to the stock suspension that you had with the BFG's. From what I've read about different road tests by various different organizations, the BFG KDW almost always comes out on top compared to all other high performance tires. That's what they're famous for, as well as being very noisy. The Toyo's also rank very high, but always behind the BFG's.

no i had the suspension upgrades with the bfg's but i did suspension after i got them so i know how it felt stock.... the T1R's are new this year i believe. and the tire noise is quite horrible. also the bfg KD are supposed to be real good.

I've never heard anyone complain about the T1-R's being too loud, and that's one of the reasons I was going to go with them. I like the BFG KDW but I don't want a tire that is constantly going to HUMMMM..... Are you saying that you have the Toyo T1R and they are loud just like the BFG KDW?
