axis rims

Ok so I have been lookin for quality, fairly inexpensive rims. After looking around for a few weeks at the forums on on the internet, I have decided the Axis wheels are my best bet. I have an 04 DG coupe 6mt. Also let it be known that i am a complete newb. There are 3 styles that i really like in the hyperblack finish:

19in Axis Penta-- 19x8.5f / 19x9.5r
19in Axis Matrix--19x8.5f/ 19x9.5r
19in Axis Hiro--19x9.5f/19x10.5r <---prolli go with these b/c of brembo issue

The thing is I dont think the pentas or matrixes would clear my brembo brakes. If anyone knows anything about that pm me or somthing. Someone told me that the Hiros are good with the brembos

Next, I want a mean look with my car, and I dont really know what offset to get reguarding my tires...truth be told i dont even know what offset really means. Also i guess you might have to lower the car to get the meanest look. I want to my my car look really sick and anyone that can help me with my questinos PLEASE i would really appreciate it.

Also anyone with pics of coupes with these rims please post, thanks

not an expert, but to give you a general idea on offset--

the lower the #--the more the wheel sticks out
the higher the #-the more tucked the wheel is

Search--there is a bunch of info on this.

Axis Hiro is a nice simple 5 spoke design--but I don't like how it says Axis in a large depression on the side.

Axis matrix is decent if you want split spoke and a big lip

Axis penta is very classy looking and has a decent lip and looks great staggered.

Not sure on the brembos.

I say(if no brembo issues) go pentas. I think they are the more highly regarded wheel from Axis. Becareful of those that will tell you to save your money for volks or whatever--b/c you don't have to spend 1+G a corner to get a hot set-up(4 grand plus, total not necessary)
good luck

look at the hotness that is penta 20" staggered!!

I can tell you from experience that the Penta's only come in 20s for the coupes.

The matrix's, which is what I have, are 19x8 and 19x9.5 with +35 and +40 offsets(sedan offsets) are gorgeous. I love mine.

The hiro's are nice. I saw them on a Z yesterday but the lip on them is nothing special.

Go with 20" Pentas otherwise Matrix's.

yea the pentas are sweet i just hope they will clear brembos. Also, this might sound stupid but the 20in rims wont look too big on my car or take away from the performance will they???I think i want to lower my car to give it a more aggressive look but will i be able to do this with the 20in pentas?

The pentas clear brembos, yes. I saw them on an older coupe when I picked my wheels up. The 20" penta's dont look too big but others sometimes do. As for lowering your car, you can drop it about an inch(correct me if Im wrong) but you may need to roll your fenders.

I'm pretty sure Axis Penta's come in 19"... I almost bought a set myself. Even says so on the Axis website: http://www.axiswheels.com/wheels/penta/penta.html

Good luck!

the 20" pentas have better offsets for the coupe, if you get the 19"s it may require a space to get them flush with the wheelwells. I know 350z owners have had this problem, and at least 1 coupe owner wasn't satisfied with the offset

I was going to get the Penta's myself but they only stagger them in 20's for the coupe. I know what it says on their website but I talked to the owner. Plus, read this. Its a direct quote from their website...

"A 20 inch Penta is coming soon with a massive 20x10 rear wheel for Nissan 350Z, Infiniti G35 Coupe, 5 series BMW and more. "

Axis Hiros

Not everyone's favorite and may be claimed to be played out but I still love my Axis Hiros. The spokes show off the brembos great and they are simple and easy to keep clean. The finish really compliments the DG paint. I have the 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 with brembos no problem. running 245 front and 275 rear, perfect, no rub. May go with 285 rear soon to cover more rim. They are just dying to get curbed!! By the way, I have a DG too, so this is what it would look like on yours.
