I call BS

A lot of people are saying this is true, but they give NO reason why. I call BS on the mileage aspect.

N2 is pretty misunderstood.

Yes, the molecules are larger, so technically air will escape slower, but the majority of leaks come from cracks or pinholes which N2 won't help.

N2 contains less moisture? Probably since you have to process it to have N2 and in the process, moisture is taken out. Versus air which is taken from the atmosphere and compressed so however much moisture the source air is, that's how much moisture you have coming out.

N2 is really beneficial in the racing scene where tire temps can get over 212F. If a racing tire was filled with regular air which might have moisture, or condensation inside of the tire, when it gets to operating temps, the water can turn into steam and cause the tire pressure to elevate, but for road cars, tire tems won't get near that level.

He probably got better gas mileage just because he's more aware of the tire pressure and watched the pressure levels more closely.

I think a lot of people don't realize that "AIR" is already 80% Nitrogen and about 18-19% Oxygen (the remaining percent is all the other stuff in the air). So you're already putting Nitrogen in your tires when you fill up, just not 100%. I wouldn't go out of my way or pay extra to fill up with "Nitrogen"
