Winters tires on back, all seasons in front

Hey guys, I live in Quebec and this will be the first time I will be driving my G in the winter. Was wondering how it will perform with new Winters shoes in the rear and my OEM Turanza's in the front?

Horrible. Winter tires at all 4 corners. Your front end will not grip the way the rear will and it will wreck havoc on your handling.

it may or may not work. you'll definitely have stronger understeer than
anything else... which might be mild to severe. without you trying it,
no way to tell.

i recommend you get all 4 tires the same make/model.

+1^^^ Big mistake to run mismatched that way, run snows front and back. Some tire Dealers will refuse to mount just snows on the back for safety reasons. You want good grip front and rear on braking and cornering.along with good traction on acceleration.

4 winters shoes!

Well after read your posts and some more googling, my verdict is to go with 4 winter tires. I may get good grip during acceleration but I will compromise braking because the front tires do most of the braking as well as steering and control of the vehicle. Thanks guys for wising me up! Better safe than sorry!

Unless you're going with a studded tire, you're not compromising dry performance by taking a winter tire. Winter tires perform better in cold, dry conditions than all-season tires ever will. They're not just exclusively for snow, its that the rubber compound is suited to maintain optimal grip in those temperatures.

Braking and handling will not be compromised with winter tires.
