loss of acceleration

noob question:
i just got my vs-xx 19X9.5 and 10.5 with 245/35 and 275/35 toyos, which replaced my stock 18s...
i noticed a slight acceleration loss.
is this common?
i know there's more contact patch but i thought my vs-xx were lighter...

yes, it's even worse when you go to 20s. did you also feel the decreased braking performance?

When I added 18's, it increased wheel/tire weight by 4 lbs per tire. I'm sure it makes a difference but I can't prove it.

It just takes a little more energy to turn a larger wheel/tire combo (not necessarily a weight thing).

braking is wat notice first. my 3pc GT3's running S03's are significantly
heavier than the stock 18's with Pilots... but the brembo's do fine.

the actual wheels themselves should be comparable if they are forged to the weights of the stock 18s... perhaps even 1-2lbs lighter depending on the model. it's the TIRES that screw you over...
