Pads & Rotors for DIYr's

There's lots of posts for fast-wearing pads & rotors and having them replaced at dealers. What non-Infiniti Parts Counter sources for replacement pads & rotors (discs)? OEM replacements, not the mega-Brembo conversion kits.
How many out there 'do' their own brake work?
How interchangable are brake parts? Maxima=350ZX=G35???
Are fast-wearing brakes a problem on '04 (built Aug 03) G35?

Re: Pads & Rotors for DIYr's

i do most of my brake work myself. i just recently changed my stock pads to ceramic pads wich work as good as stock but they produce little to none brake dust so your wheels stay clean. as far as rotors mine were fine, but on my older cars i would take the rotors off and bring them to a shop to cut them. as far as new rotors go there are rotors for our cars on tirerack.com that ebc makes they are slotted and have dimples instead of drilled holes (less chance of cracking). i am not sure how good these rotors are but if i needed to get new rotors @ this time i would be getting them. as far as compatible parts with the other cars mentioned the 350z has the same parts for the non brmbo brakes but not too sure about the others.

coupe, sedan? 6MT, auto? we need some info to help you with. I did my sedan's front and rear brake pads myself and had the rotors turned. I used the stillen metal matrix full metal pads. Excellent pad, may eat up rotors faster (no data yet), less brake dust than stock. 37.50 each pair was my price before shipping/tax. They do require a breakin period and "setting", search for info on metal brake pads.

Original question refers to 2004 sedan.
Does the coupe have different/bigger brakes?
