im looking for some good wheels for dragracing/performance and something that has some style but i dont want to spend too much money so whats the best wheels prefabalay 19", basically whats the cheapest performance wheels. I made another thread asking about some 20's but i decided to just save up cuz i dont want heavy *** cheap wheels making my car slow, im more into performance than bling factor...btw my 03 coupes color is DG...on a side note, how heavy are my stock wheels?

 

The smaller the wheel the faster your car will be. For all out drag racing, some 17's with street slicks. Don't expect too much performance in 19's, but if I were to get one for cheap, Luff M1's. You can get a set for $1200 or less.

 

I dont think i want to go anything smaller than my stock 18s...i do still want some style/performance, luff m1's? i'll look into it, thanks dan

 

5zigen FN01R-C in 17's would be a good choice. Lots of size and offset choices, and used by many racers and drifters for a relatively light and cheap wheel

 

Luff's aren't exactly the lightest, but they are pretty cheap.

 

i bet my stock 17s are pretty light

and theyre only $350 picked up

and include tires with 8k miles and TPS

 

naw i dont think i want 17's.... i mean i want something for the track but i want something that looks nice too, thats why i was thinking 19's...the luffs look pretty good but are they gona be lighter and give me a little better performance than my stock 18s?cuz i dont want to downgrade performance wise, and what size/offset do i get if i get the 19s..sorry i dont know too much about rims

 

good luck finding track rubber in 19's. I don't know if most R-compound tires come any larger than 18s. Unless you're running a massive brake setup, I think you're better off going with smaller diameter rims. If you're gonna drag rather than do road racing, you especially want smaller rims, not larger.

 

+1 thats what I use for the track. Haven't managed to bend one yet.

 

You are basically asking for wheels that don't exist. You aren't going to find a cheap light 19" wheel that would be good for track/drag. You have to make a choice on what you want, you can't have it all. Your best bet is picking up some OEM 19's and putting better tires on those. Thats going to be the cheapest lightest 19" wheel you are going to find, but the widths are a little on the narrow side for tracking.

thanks guys for all your input, yea i guess i cant have the best of both worlds mabey i'll just get 18s instead of 19s? does the 5zigen come in 18,s i'll do some research....I guess i'll stick to 18s, sorry i dont wnat to go any smaller, so what 18's would be better than my stocks? man but those luffs look pretty good do they have 18s.....lol sorry im just confusing myself..I dont know if you guys were me and you want a little bit of both worlds what wheels would you get?
style/performance/price, i want all three,atleast something better than stock 18s without sacraficing performance

ok ive decided to go with 5zigens. which size/offset 18s(fn01r,proracer,sc300?etc) should i go for and what color would look nice on my DG color coupe and are they all similar when it comes to weight?
