Winter Tire Time, how does my plan sound?

The New England winter is upon us, and my three different types of tires on my car need to go.

My plan is, to mount a good winter tire on my stock 17's, then get 18's for summer tires in the spring.

I was highly considering the Dunlop Winter Sport M3's, 215/55/17.

What'cha think?

Also, how much longer should I wait to get them mounted? It's staying pretty cold here, in the 30's and 40's, but I dont want to burn through them. I'de like them to last several seasons.

Also, what are you guys running for PSI? The "door" suggests 30, I was thinking a little higher???

Sounds like a good plan. I'm in CT and last year just put new 235-50/17 avon 550 m&s on my 6sp sedan. the original el-42's were discarded with plenty of tread left- just no good. I hear the dunlops are great. check reviews on tirerack.com. also, if you're from New England, anytime now it fine to put on the snows, as the cold weather and snow is starting to come.

Coupe or Sedan? Not sure if 215/55/17's would be too small to match up with the stock height of the 18's/19's on the coupe...

FWIW...I just put on my winter setup on my coupe. 225/55/17's on all 4's.
