Metal Matrix Rear Wheel Brake Dust

This is my first post, so I want to say hello to everyone, first off.

I recently had all of my stock pads replaced with the metal matrix pads. While the dust is almost non-existent on my front wheels, the rear wheels look as bad (if not worse) than my fronts previously looked in regards to brake dust. Has anyone else seen this? Any ideas what may be the cause? I plan on taking it back to the shop I had the work performed at or have the Infiniti dealer check it out, but I want to go in with some idea of what may be happening so that I will have some ammo if they try to tell me this is normal (I don't see how this could be).

Well, if they're not the stock pads, what do you expect Infiniti to do about it?

I don't expect Infiniti to do anything so much as help me figure out the source of the dust. I just don't see how brand new pads that are creating very little, light-colored dust on the front wheels could be creating more black dust than stock pads on the rear wheels.

Oh, sorry, I read your post wrong! That is weird, I'd expect more dust on the front wheels! What are those pads, are they supposed to last longer than OEM's?

Re: Metal Matrix Rear Wheel Brake Dust

They're the Axxis Metal Matrix pads. I'm not so sure about longevity so much as the fact that they are supposed to give off much less brake dust. Which they do - at least on the front wheels. I agree that it's odd for more dust to be on the rear, especially considering teh sctock pads did the exact opposite (as with most RWD cars). Aside from all of this they perform excellent, though.
