Tires for 19x8 Rim

I just bought some Axis rims that are 19x8 for both front and rear. I ordered the Toyo Proxes FZ4s with them F: 235/35 and R: 245/35. After driving for awhile on them, and then switching to the 17" with stock tires, I'm starting to like the bigger sidewall. SO, I was wondering if this would work:
Front: 225/40
Rear: 245/40
The offsets of the Axis rims are 35 for front and 40 for back, BUT I have some H&R wheel spacers in there, 20mm for front and 25mm for rear. Just wondering if any of you guys know if it'll rub if I use the bigger sidewall? I currently have stock suspension. Waiting for Nismocoupe's group buy on Tein CS coilovers. Thanks ahead!

Re: Tires for 19x8 Rim

what are the stock size tires on the 17"?

if they are 225/50/17 front
and 245/50/17 rear.

Then you should of gone with 225/40/19 front
and 245/40/19
to keep the same diameter.

You might not notice that much of a difference in ride quality, but your speedo will be more accurate. Your gas milleage showing on the gauge will drop, but you'll notice you don't have to fill up as often and get more distance per tank.

the stock 17s on the coup were 235 in the back not 245.

the 225/40 front
and 245/40 rear will be fine.

Those are pretty much the same diameter as the 6mt's stock 18" setup.

Thanks for your comments guys! I think I'm going to go with the proposed setup. NOw, just gotta find those tire sizes with a brand other than Michelin Pilot Sports...
