I don't know how the Infiniti there does it, but my dealership, the warranty is offered through another organization (MAG group if I remember right) that just uses the dealership as their window into the market. They have it set up so that as long as you report the change of tires/wheels and a reason they will cover it as long as they give you an Approval.

I worked at CarsDirect and our tire and wheel covered aftermarket wheels too. That was worth it. Check what the deductible is. Keep in mind that the price is negotiable.

Not worth it, my friend FX got 20" on them and bought warranty for the wheels. They told him whole bunch of BS (scratches, dents, bla bla bla, we'll fix or replace).....One day he got a very bad scratch, brought to dealer, they said the warranty only cover when the wheels are not drivable. Don't know the whole story, but in the end he had some place fixed the wheel for him $100. My 2cents, with the $$$ you spend on warranty, just save it up and get you another set of wheels.

Mine is not offered from Infiniti, it's a separate private company. However, it DOES NOT COVER bent rims, curb rash or even broken spokes. It only pays if the rim will NOT hold air! WTF is that! It could be wobbling down the road and still not be covered!

And yes, it will cover aftermarket wheels and tires.
