Rim Question

hey guys....
im new to the forums and i have a 2006 IP Coupe and right now the car is still fully stock with the 18'' rims, soon im getting the 20'' DPE ro6 rims 2.5'' front lip and 4.5'' lip in the back in phantom black (color) and i just had a few questions about the rim fitment on my g coupe, i wanted to know if my tires are going to rub? and do i need to roll my fenders? and also im planning to drop my car and i dont really know what springs to get, that could go with my 20'' Dpe's and also what is spacers? sorry for asking so many questions i needed to know. lol

thanks guys..

We need to know what are the sizes of the wheels and what the offsets are.

I've got 20x10.5 in the back with a 1 inch drop, and I don't have any rubbing issues. Anymore than that and I would probably have to roll my fenders. You should be fine unless you get a really aggressive drop.

Rims/Springs/Offset.................

Don't be so concerned with the size of the lip it's the off-set that will be
important when you've lowered your G. If you order your wheels with the
correct off-set you won't need the spacers plus have you considered how
your G will ride with 20's? I guess you want to be "cool" regardless how
you car rides, 35's don't make for a comfortable ride.......good luck!

^ I have 35 in front and 30 in the back, and my ride is almost identical to my stock 18's

I thought DPE is conservative on thier lip sizes.

Kinda hard to get a 4.5" lip on a 10" rim then isn't it?

I don't mean to take away DPE G35's thunder(sorry dude), but i figure it's a rim tire thread and it's a nice opportunity to ask...i was wondering about ride quality about 20's. I've seen some people saying it's rougher than stock, and then again, i've seen some people saying it rides almost as good as stock. I was interested in getting 20's as well in the future but i wanted to do some research...maybe some certain brand wheels and tires are different ride quality? I'm curious in hearing from people of their ride quality with their type of wheel and tire combo...mad thankz

+1 on that.
And what tire size. The stretched look or the meaty look.

I'm running 20X9 offset 20 with 245/35's on front with a fair drop. No rubbing issues.

On rear...20X10 offset 25 with 285/30's (meaty) fair drop. I rub on moderate bumps and moderate to hard cornering. I need to roll my fenders if staying with my 285/30's or go with less drop in the rear.

reviving this thread cause I have a similar issue...

I have 20x10 rears with +30 offset. I like the meatier 285 look, but am concerned that I might rub even with no drop. I may lower the coupe less than 1" at some point, but not in the near future. Do you think 285s will be fine for now, or are 275s the way to go? btw, i'm going with falken 452s.

thanks for any advice you can give.

You can go 285s without a doubt.

Only problem I would be worried about is with that +30 offset on a 10" rim, you might rub your strut in the rear if you drop too low =|
