In antipation of my G35c (next year sometime) when I get rims for my Maxima I'm going to get them with the end in mind (i.e. putting them on my G35c). Can you guys post some pics of your car with aftermarket rims? Tire Rack and Discount Tires Direct don't have too many rims for the coupe so it's hard to get the visuals I want.

Also, what's the best offset to go with? What's the widest tires anyone on here has? I'm going to be going with 245/40/19's for the Max and I assume these will work well initially for the coupe but it seems you can get 285's or 295's in the rear on the coupe and I'd like to also be able to take advantage of that later ... will I need a 9-10" width to accomodate 265-295's or can an 8.5" width support some of this range?

I hope these questions aren't too newbie ... I just don't have the time to do 2-3 hours of searching for pics and such. Any and all replies welcome. :-)

I would save your money and don't buy the rims for the maxima or sell the rims once you get your G. The offsets for the Maxima and the G35C are very different. From what I seen is that the offsets for the Maxima are near 40 or more. The best offsets for the G35C is in the mid 20s. If you place a +40 offset or more on the G, it will look strange since the wheels will be really tucked in the fender. Also the Maxima is FWD correct, so the Maxima doesn't carry a stagger setup. I would be best to buy rims that were meant for a RWD car.

Currently I have 19x9.5 and 19x10.5 with 245/35/19 and 285/30/19. They fit fine, I wish I placed a 255 or 265 on the front instead but I got a deal on these tires so beggers can't be choosers.

Good advice. While I'm not terribly worried about the staggered setup (it doesn't seem absolutely necessary anyway - although nice), the offset information however has proven VERY useful. I've been waiting for rims for my Maxima for 5 years, but I guess I'll just wait until I sell it and then look for rims for the G35c. It'd be stupid to buy rims for the Maxima only to sell them/it in a year or so since I wouldn't be able to use them on the coupe ...

Just curious why you wish you had gotten 255 or 265 on the front? I'm a newbie when it comes to this stuff. Would that make your tires slightly larger, making the ride slightly more comfortable? And, the 35 -30 are the % of side wall, right? So you have slightly shorter sidewalls on the rear. Again, is this for a smoother ride? Can you visual see a difference in the side walls height? Or, do I have it all wrong?

Actually I wanted a larger width b/c the width of my rims on the fronts are 9.5. The lip of the rim sticks out a bit, I just want the lip of the rim and sidewall of the tire to be flushed.

You are correct about my rears, my rears have a slightly smaller side wall compared to the front. But for the deal I was getting for these tires I definately could not pass up. Let's say I got all 4 tires with mounting and everything for under 600 bucks, I would hit it! =)

Currently with the smaller sidewalls and a larger rim, the ride is a little bit more rougher. If I went with a larger sidewall, the ride would be smoother.

But altogether, I got this setup b/c it was a STEAL!! That's pretty much it. My next set will be Toyo T1s 255/35/19 and 275/35/19

What would you guys say be max for the rears?, could you fit 295-305 back there ? When I get my new rims ... I am plannning to get the widest I can, so I am set when I get a TT or SC(not sure yet which).
