Re: tein basic coilovers

Their is one Tein basic coupe user on this board, here is his profile so you can pm him and see if he will give you the info your after on his personel experience. https://g35driver.com/forums/showpro...tic&what=login If you don't want to wait for a reply, you can look at his past posts and you'll find he's had things to say about them. Also, if your doing that go to www.my350z.com register and click on their search button and search tein basic and read what posts come up, lots of info to be read.

Tein basics do not have dampeners that can be adjusted, just the ride height is adjustable. Keep in mind that when you continue to drop the ride height, your sacraficing suspension travel. Some coilover systems are designed to allow you to lower and NOT have reduced suspension travlel, the Jics and Tein Flex systems are like that, but expensive.

Cheapest known place to buy them $783 is http://www.revhighonline.com/page.ph...=Tein&page=150 do check and see if any of the forum sponcers listed here carry same product and if they are willing to match that price.

On final note, here is a direct link to the spec page to see the minimum and maximum drop you can expect from any and all products from tein on various Infinities. Where it shows ride height, that is how much lower the car will be using Teins recommended ride height. To the right of that it will show you the max and min possible drop from that setup. Word to the wise, if something doesn't make sense, CALL THEM I made them aware of a typo on the 350Z applications a few months ago, when something didn't add up. They are very nice to talk to, btw. http://www.tein.com/infiniti.html

Re: tein basic coilovers

I also have the Tein Basics.

I love them also. TEIN nailed the perfect nonadjustable (as far as dampaning) suspension. The ride is nearly the same as stock, just a tad bit tighter. But not rougher if that makes sense.

I was nervous, very nervous when I bought them...thinking I should just go with the Flex system and EDFC. But I am so glad I saved the $1000 or so. I do highly (and I mean highly) recommend getting the adjustable camber rods. Which can run you anywhere from $220 (KinetixRacing from ebay)-$450(Steallen, opps Stillen) but it helps with the butterfly effect on the back wheels and helps save those high dollar tires.

The best option is to find someone local who has them and take a ride.

Hey Jason,

I called Titan today, what happened?

They did direct me to Irish Mike's for my alignment. Great bunch of guys over there. They did an awesome job, and ran my first dyno.

Re: tein basic coilovers

I lowered the back anoth 1.25" since this pick was taken. After I installed the camber rods. So the back is tucked under the wheel well like the front.

Re: tein basic coilovers

Hey Jeremy!

I just got a real awesome offer over at Enjuku and they cater better to my needs so I'm over there now. Glad to hear that Irish Mike's took good care of your car though. Good news about the dyno too! They are a great bunch of guys over there, I still keep in touch with all of them.

If you need G35 stuff though, please come to me so I can take good care of you

Sorry, I don't mean to jack the thread, but orljmh, are your GT-7's mercury silver? or are they just the regular flat silver? They look awesome. Thanks.

Re: tein basic coilovers

Yes, they are Mercury Silver. I am not sure what the extra cost was for that, it was all incuded in the quote when I bought them.

Thanks for the compliment.
