How 19 inch = 35 series tire?
I have a G35c 5AT w/ 17 inch wheels the tires on their now are a 50 series tire. The stock 18 inch are on a 45 series tire. So how come everyone getting 19's with a 35 series tire? I really want 19's but would prefer something like 275/40/19 because chicago is full of potholes.
thanks

If you go with aftermarket (wider) 18s, the sizes to use would be 245/40/18 and 275/40/18. On 19s however the correct size, is as you said, is 245/35/19 and 275/35/19. Stock 18s are 225/45 and 245/45. All the afore mentioned sizes have one thing in common. The fronts are all the same size in outer diameter, as are the rears. This is necessary to maintain proper operation of VDC, TC, and the great handling built into out cars.
IMHO, and I know I'm in the minority, the best trade off between looks/performannce is wider 18" wheels.
