I got 255 40 on my rear. And I think I should have gone 35 instead. Car feel kinda shaky on the corners at the high speed.
I'm gonna try calling tire shop see if I can change them on 255/35. |
I'm running 285/30 Bridgestone S03 on my ride!

Would 255/35 be okay for the stock 18's?? Looks like I flattened both my rears the other day taking pictures in the woods. So now it's garage bound till I can get someone to tow it. but i'd like to go wider than whats on em as well.

i'm thinking about 255/40 on the rear, and 235/40 on the front with the OEM 19 wheels. This should be a good fit, right? Just want to make sure before ordering them.

Here is the math to figure out how wide of tires you can put on your rims.
245/40R19 take the width (245) and multiply it by the aspect ratio (40) 245 x .40 = 98 So a compareable tire would be 275/35 275 x .35 = 96.25 Now when you change your tire size it will throw off you speedomoter, you can check out this website to see how much of a difference. http://www.paspeedo.com/calculator.htm |
Answer!!!
I wish someone had done this before with success and told me about it.
I hope the information is not too late. Just a small intro...I have modified the hell out of a car I used to have...I owned a 2004 G35...then I got an EVO VIII (sorry to trade it in)...and traded it for a 2005 G35. I really missed the handling and comfort level in the EVO. I wasn't sure what I was going to do when time came to replace the tires on the G. I had the local place dry fit 265/35/19s. These tires are just 0.4 inches shorter than stock...or just 0.2 inches shorter per sidewall. I was a bit concerned on how they would fit. They don't really bulge out as I thought they would, and now I wish I had tried on the 275s because the 275/35 height would be closer to stock. But, they were not in stock, and I was in a hurry. Up front, the 245/35/19s fit PERFECTLY on the stock 19" rims. I understand that the front rim is just 8" while the rear is 8.5", but you can put 245/35 up front AND 265/35 in the rear. Ask the shop to fit 275/35 for you and see how it looks. As far as I can tell, it may just fit. The RE050A requires a 9" rim for the 265 and for the 275 as the minimum width. Since they both have 9" as the minimum, I am inclined to believe that the 275 will fit nicely as well. I wish I had more grip in the rear or less anti-sway bar in the rear. I have more bite from the tires, but as I put the power on through the turn, the rear wants to come loose, and letting off the gas would not be a good idea because the rear would definitely come around. I am riding on the Tanabe Sustec front and rear anti-sway bars. If anyone here decides to go the anti-sway bar route, just get beef up the front one and leave the one in the rear as it is. When the 265 wares out, I will try to fit a 275 and see if it sits the same on the rim. If the 275 doesn't give me enough balance through a corner, I will switch the rear anti-sway bar back to stock OR, I may want to get an adjustable one for the rear. Good Luck! |
i have 245/40/19 allround and plan on 255 on the rears next time
i wouldnt go more than 255 |
265/35/19 fits fine on OEM 19" rims
Just what the title says. I have it on right now and I do push the car through turns. I honestly feel that I can go one size wider to 275/35 and still be okay.
For anyone who wants to go 265/35 on OEM 19", don't worry...it fits and it doesn't look like it bulges at all. I'll have to take a few pictures and somehow post them here for all of you to see. 245 in the front and 265 in the back...no problem. Cheers! |
