Questions about winter wheel setup on coupe...help appreciated

Hi I was looking for some general help and information.

My issue is that I have the 19" oem rims and summer tires. I have 18" +45 offset rims that are the same bolt pattern and all season tires from my previous car that I wanted to use for my winter setup and tire rack told me they wouldn't fit.

So what's the deal? Is it true that you have to run a staggered setup on the car? and does that mean the tire profile as well as the width? Is it true that those wheels won't fit?

Any more information anyone can provide me so I understand is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

you dont have to run a staggerred setup but your problem lies in the bolt pattern and offset.. the bolts simply wont line up with the holes on the rim and the offset will leave the rims deep inside the wheel well.. could possibly run on the inner wheel well.

your year and manual or auto will help with more info as well

sure thing, it's an '07 auto, so no brembos either. So does everyone on here run thicker tires in the back?
