I'm looking at the Gewalt EVO III's. Apparently 5zigen uses the same wheels as Gewalt. But ADVAN's also has a wheel that looks the same, but is more expensive. Does anyone know if it is, and if so, which company should I go with? The Gewalt and 5zigen's seem to be sold for the cheapest amount. Is there a difference in forging/casting/alloy? Are any of these companies good quality? Any help would be great! Thanks.

What kind of quality are we talking? Is ADVAN forged/cast differently? Are there any other differences? They are all made by arrow enterprises, right?

ADVAN is made by Yokohama in Japan and is gravity cast, this method of casting supposedly makes the wheel stronger.

 

advans are a much higher higher quality then gewalt or 5zigen... advan is along the lines or volk and work wheels... 5zigen and gewalts are typically cast, except for a few models... and advans and volks are almost all forged.

Is there really any difference in gewalt vs. 5zigen? I can get the 5zigens much cheaper than the Gewalts, but I would be willing to shell out the extra dough on the Gewalts if there is something better about them. The advans are a bit too much for me to spend.

I am interested in the exact same rims in 18X8. However I couldn't get a price on either. What prices were you offered?

As for the rim style, the Gewalts and 5Zigens look identical (less the center cap). But the Advans are more like the Exel Speed (wheelmax.com/wheelguys.com).

I would be cautious about ordering from Wheelmax. There have been so many negative reports on them. I've even saw remarks made to the Better Business Bureau on them.

5zigen evo 19" ... [is actually gewalt evo 19"]

also, they have a 5zigen black racing pro-n1, which is made by some other company [not 5zigen, i just ordered a set]

wheelmax is shady! they seem to have good prices, but be careful what you buy from them...

aside from that, you sedan guys going with 18 X 8... i am going +38 offset all the way around... i think going staggerred is a bad idea. is that offset optimal? thanks =)

Hmmm. I thought the 5Zigen were knockoffs off the Gewalt. After I enlarged the picture, I noticed that it had the Gewalt centercap. IF WheelGuys.com are selling Gewalts for that cheap, I'd be very interested. HOWEVER, I would want to buy them personally (and inspect them) versus buying them via the Internet. Trip time?

 

no 5zigen and gewalt as themselves are both reputable companies. the mixup is on the part of wheelmax. try to go online and find anything regarding a "5zigen evo"... there is no such wheel. there is however a gewalt evo that looks exactly like (and is), wheelmax's "5zigen-evo".

wheelmax is basically trying to sell them under a different brand... like selling rh evo's as racing harts.

OK. So the "5zigen evo's" offered by wheelmax are not the Gewalt evo's? I'm a little confused here. Wheelmax has the best price on those wheels, but I don't want to get shafted by getting a cheap wheel, or the wrong wheel.

Who is the most reputable dealer that sells Gewalt wheels? I had a hard time finding them online. I want to get these soon, but I don't want any problems with Wheelmax if they are a bad company.
