anyone mix tires yet...

here is the deal my rear tires are due to be changed. the fronts have probably 6 months of wear left on them. i don't want to spend $600 on 2 new rear tires then have to commit to 2 more pilots for the front later on. what i want to do is get bridgestone s-03's for the rear now and then get them for the front later on when needed. has anyone else done this? how did it look? did it handle ok?
thanks in advance.

Re: anyone mix tires yet...

I've read different experiances from different people on this. Sometimes it OK, other times, not so good. Different performance tires are built with different characteristics. If it were me, I wouln't do it. I'd want a set of the same type of tire. I'd change all four. However, you can change two, see how it feels to you. If it's ok, leave them, if not, change the other two.
