anyone mix tires yet...
here is the deal my rear tires are due to be changed. the fronts have probably 6 months of wear left on them. i don't want to spend $600 on 2 new rear tires then have to commit to 2 more pilots for the front later on. what i want to do is get bridgestone s-03's for the rear now and then get them for the front later on when needed. has anyone else done this? how did it look? did it handle ok?
thanks in advance.

I've read different experiances from different people on this. Sometimes it OK, other times, not so good. Different performance tires are built with different characteristics. If it were me, I wouln't do it. I'd want a set of the same type of tire. I'd change all four. However, you can change two, see how it feels to you. If it's ok, leave them, if not, change the other two.

depends on how you ride your car. i usually take my car up in the mountains for a 'quick brisk cruise'... well my rear michelin exploded while i was on the freeway. I didn't want to spend 300$ per tire on a soft sidewall rubberband, so i opted for pirelli's pzero assimetrico. they work wonders... don't squeel like the michelin's and grip better. right now i am riding on eibach's with 255/35zr-18.. the profile is stiff and improved handling just a wee bit, and looks a bit more aggressive with the tire's flush look onto the wheel. my profile is a bit too small though and i am scraping.. argh. time to change tires. =/
i have no complaints with mix-matched tires... i am not satisfied with the fronts either (the tires are too skinny for the wheels IMHO) so i will wait until the p-zeros wear off then change all of them at once. or better yet.. buy a wheel/tire combo.
