so i decided to purchase some 20inch staggered wheels. 20x8.5 front and 20x10 in rear. My shop told me I might have to turn off my AWD system so the drivetrain on the wheels can rotate properly.....Is this true????? did u guys have to go thru this???

Thanks

yes, it's true. X's should not run staggered and if they do (not recommended) you will need to pull the fuse to dis-engage the AWD

R34s run staggared wheels all the time

attessa does not have a locked diff. no need to worry.

if you are worried, than just pull the AWD fuse from the cabin fuse box located underneth your steering column in the footwell

If you do it just pull the fuse. Seems like a waste to have an AWD that becomes a heavy RWD.

+++++1

staggared wheels are just a look thing. your AWD system, although RWD biased, is very balanced. staggaring em' up is only adding weight and drag.

for optimal straight line and cornering performance go with the non staggared setup. however, such performance differences could only been seen if you track the car every other day

mine did

by a few tenths of a second at the end of the day @ englishtown

AWD is pumped up too much. its only good if your running a ton of HP. Our G35's bite the pavement quite well when they are stock. they dont really need the additional traction
