G35 Coupe wheels on the sedan
G35 Coupe wheels on the sedan
Car novice looking for advice on putting the G35 coupe 17" wheels onto the G35 sedan.
Would this violate any manufacturer's spec, and hence void the warranty?
Do I need to do anything else ( special tuning or allignment) besides just swapping out the stock sedan wheels and installing the coupe's 17"?
Has anyone replace the sedan's wheels with the coupe 17" wheels? What's your experience been?
Thanks!!!

Re: G35 Coupe wheels on the sedan
i suggest a search next time. but why not just use the stock auto sedan wheels (non-sport), instead of the coupe 17's. there both the same wheel, but the coupe 17's have the offsets for the coupe if i am not mistaken.

Re: G35 Coupe wheels on the sedan
They'll fit just fine. Steering effort will be increased just a bit due to the increased 'scrub area' created mainly by the lower offset and to a lesser degree, the increased tread width.
On stock ride height, they look ok. The front is just flush w. the outside fender line, while the rear sticks out by just a few mm.
Since this is a staggered setup, the handling of your sedan will be different and you should be aware of this. Due to the larger overall diameter of the rear (vs. front), traction control is delayed allowing you to break the rear loose easier. When under hard cornering, it's now possible to step the tail out (yes, w. VDC on) before the computer intervenes. Unfortunately, when the VDC kicks in when you're already in a slight drift with a little counter steer ... it will make things worse by cutting power (via TCS and probably some funky yaw control braking while it's at it). A fairly unsettling experience ... but managable once you grow accustom to it.
