mine came to be slicks in NOVEMBER during snow times.
So I saved lots of $ going ice scatting. I just did it in my car.

I got 32K out of the Pilot Sports but the rears looked like slicks when I changed them, so probably should have been 28K. I now have about 6K on the BFGoodrich GForce TA KDW and I really like these tires, good grip, but they "chirp" alot.
If the owner is diligent to changing out the rear tires when the tread reaches the "wear bar", most tires will not go much further than 18,000 miles. Since our rear tires wear primarily in the middle treads, the visual inspection is deceiving, as the outer treads will wear slower and have more tread. Bottom line is, for all those that are getting those high numbers out of the rears is because you are going past the 2/32 mark of the wear bars and in actuality, the tires were not safe at that point.
