I scrubbed the LF rim on the guide rail in a touchless carwash!. Noticeable scratches about 3/4 the way around. Does anyone remember the posts a while back that covered rim repairs/refinishing? I remember reading about successful repairs including before and after photos. I'm sick over the damage to my babe! I checked with the dealer and the price for a new rim is out of sight. A helpful reply would be most appreciated.

some guy on this site fixed his own rim by sanding and refinishing it with wheel paint....problem is most silver/titanium paints in this country do not match exactly...something to due with the lead they still use in japanese painting process....anyway there are a lot of wheel repair places that fix scuffed rims....most charge in the neighborhood of $100-$150 which IMO isn't too bad considering a new rim is almost $900....depending on where you live you should be able to find a repair place...I messed up my passenger front some time back and was able to get it repaired by the dealership...pretty good job and match is close to perfect IMO...check these sites:

some have an exchange policy so you can get a new/repaired
rim and then send yours back or just have yours fixed and wait for it to be sent back...usually takes 2-3 day from the info i received....hope this helps..2old4this
