I'd work to find the combo that keep's the front to rear diff to less than 1% if I were doing it. I've heard stories of no VDC light and a reduction in the effectiveness of the ABS, which tell's me the VDC's effectiveness might be compromised too. I don't recall how far the poster went outside the oem setup, percentage of diff wise (I was looking for something else and caught the post on the sly, it's on my350z.com).
In related thinking, I have 245's all the way around, I sure wouldn'd go skinnier up front, but I know, that would mean 275's in the rear, that would make things more difficult selection and fitment wise.

If you're making engine an suspension mods that warrant it, it's not a bad idea. However, if your sedan is otherwise stock, I wouldn't go wider in the rear.. the car already has a slight tendency to understeer. More rubber in the rear would increase that tendency unless you take other steps to counter it.
