Re: 225/55/17 GS D3's on my sedan (pics)
Not sure if I like them... The sidewall looks pretty tall, and the wheel gap doesn't bother me at all. I've been cosidering these as a replacement for my RS-As, but I think the RS-A have a "squarer" profile, which I like. I suspect that without the direct sunlight, and with some tire gel, they may look different... better.

Performance will probably be excellent though. Keep us updated.

Re: 225/55/17 GS D3's on my sedan (pics)
is 225/55 17 taller/more sidewall then 235/50 17 or is it pretty much the same thing?

Re: 225/55/17 GS D3's on my sedan (pics)
It's just a bit taller.

Compared to 215/55R17, a 235/50R17 is 0.2% smaller, and 225/55R17 is 1.6% larger. That's the theoretical math, anyway.. actual difference depends on slight variations between brands of the tire sizes in question.

I like them but I'd probably go with a lower profile and a little wider myself. You like their performance?

Re: 225/55/17 GS D3's on my sedan (pics)
I would have liked a lower profile myself but as our choices of rubber go for this car, this was about the best quality that fits on the rim. 225/50 was a consideration but the 225/55's give a slightly higher tread wear number and a significantly higher load index. For those two reasons I went with the 225/55's.

I do like thes alot and I think they are a better alternative for the enthusiast than the Pilot Sport A/S's. the Michelins are worth every dime BUT their dry traction is not quite as good as the GSD3's is. I have had both tires 235/50 Pilot Sport A/S's and the current Goodyears. They both let you drive safely on wet roads.

My desired setup is 17x8 OZ superleggera's with 255/45 proxes or S-03's but I don't have 2000.00 to spend on tires/rims.

Load is not something I'd considered. That is a good point. I do like them the more I look at the pics. Enjoy and keep us updated. I can't wait to wear out the stock Turanzas.

Hey 3.5SE... any updates yet? I know you drive mad miles so you must have a couple of K's on these tires already.
