Max tire width question...again...
Max tire width question...again...
Sorry up front to those of you who might find my question repetitive.
Wanted to know max tire width for stock 17's on the rear. I've read lots of posts and looked at charts. I still can't find a definitive answer but I'm guessing it's out there.
I'm going to try 255. Do I need to step down from 50 to 45 in profile? (255/50/17 or 255/45/17)
If I step down in profile but am not changing the stock 215/50/17's up front, will that be an issue?
I'm guessing 255/50/17's will still be O.K. I'm planning on replacing with same tires...Goodyear Eagle RS-A. If going to a 275 in rear is possible, let me know. Also, if anyone has a tire recommend I'd appreciate it.
Again, I've read forever on the other forum regarding this ? and can't find the exact answer. I somewhat understand the tire charts listed but haven't seen a chart for the stock coupe 17's.
Thanks for any help. I need tires soon!

Re: Max tire width question...again...
Discount Tire Direct says that Plus Zero sizing would net a 245/45/17 in the front and a 245/50/17 in the rear. That means the front outer diameter would be 25.7" which is right and the rear would be about 26.7" which is also about right. Limited availability of sets of these two sizes. Looks like only Michelin Pilot Sport AS of Goodrich.
