1 piece = a solid block of alloy forms the wheel.
2 piece = composed of a barrel (the rim) and a face. Most of the time the pieces are welded together and rivets are for looks. There are two piece wheels that are bolted,
3 piece = composed of a two piece barrel; 1 piece is the front and the other is the back and a face. Pretty much always bolted together with rivets.

So I would assume the wheel strength in this order.... 3>2>1?

uhhh i say its a little too much. But thats my opinion. Then again, I'm the kind of person that would paint over carbon fiber. Although I do like the TS hood with the vents not painted, but thats the most carbon fiber I'd ever have showing on my car, if I ever decided to shell out the money for CF anything. Which I probably wont.

Are you serious they're 1620 per wheel and they're not even really carbon fiber? I read that correctly right? when someone said its just aluminum withe a CF overlay?

That's just the MSRP

Plently of people pay top dollar for 3 piece forged wheels. Add in carbon fiber overlays and you're looking at a hefty price. Overlaying carbon on wheels is not easy. Think about the rotational speed of the wheel and how well the carbon has to adhere in order to not fly off!!!

I agree, but I don't think I'll be spending that much on wheels.
