... I hope this hasn't been discussed before, I checked the TSB forum and noticed a post about brakes concerning Canadian G35 Sedans, but...

I got a mailing from Infiniti concerning the brakes on my Coupe. Has anyone else gotten this?? I have the mailing right in front of me. My brakes, after only 7,500 miles, are squeakin like I'm driving a used Mack truck.

Has anyone taken their's in yet for the brake pad replacement? I'm going in for an oil change next week and want to get my brakes repaired at the same time. Just curious who's done the same and if it corrected the problem. Thanks.

My car came with a notice saying if my breaks wear out before 3 years 36,000 miles Infiniti will replace them and turn the rotors if necessary.

There has been break issues listed/posted here before. If you have trouble go to your dealer and complain!

I have the stock Brembo's and they started squeeking at about 11k..when i rolled to a very soft stop... but the squeek only happened at the very end of the stop...

took it to the dealer and said it was just a build up of a cake of brake dust... the end.... and now after a while it went away...

 

i have the 5AT with 31000 miles. i had the brake recall work done at about 26000 and since then, my brakes squeal like a mouse getting raped. its really irritating.

 

Sorry to tell you, but these cars seem to have squeeky brakes with or without new parts.
Infiniti is supposedly working on it. Stay tuned!!

 

Yeah, I have the same thing. I did the recall at about 18,000 on my 5AT, my pads were starting to wear pretty bad and a slight squeak. Now, I have a much louder squeak that has been getting worse. I have 20,000 miles on it now. Next time I go in for service, I'm going to have a little chat about that.

I have 11K and I'm starting to get the squeak at the very end of my stops . . .not enough to really bother me . . .

However, I'm starting to get a strange squeak/rubbing sound when I am moving (not when I apply the brakes). When this squeaking starts, it goes away once I tap the brakes. It comes back shortly thereafter until I tap the brakes again. Its getting annoying. I think its the brakes for sure. Could it be that they need to be cleaned and adjusted?

I also think the VDC kills the brakes . .so if you drive the G35 in the snow, it kills the brakes. . . that's what I think causes a lot of problems.

 

My brakes squeaked only when going in reverse and hitting the brakes. I brought it to the dealer after the 7000K mark. They did the normal oil change, and were aware of the brakes. They replaced my back brakes for free. The next day, they started to squeak again. =(

 

I was just a McDonalds in the Drive Thru lane. My brakes (1,200 miles) started squeaking when i started applying them. It was pretty embarassing. Should I even bother taking it in to the dealer or are they going to tell me to just wait until a TSB comes out?

No problem guys... many performance brakes squeak.. it'a natural I guess.. Evo owners complain about the same thing too.. My dad has Jaguar Vanden Plas which makes the same noise
