I finally got a set of dedicated winter tires a few months ago. I'm currently still on my summer tires, but it is starting to cool off around here - mid 40's in the morning, 60 for the high. When is a good time to make the switch? Should I wait til the high temp drops into the low 50's / upper 40's?

Just curious when you all generally make the swap. I've got the winter wheel/tire setup in my basement ready to go

 

I'm not planning on making the swap until the nights are consistently at or below freezing and the day-time highs are in the mid-single digits Celsius (that's under 40 for you Americans).

 

i've got mine on already, the temps are going below freezing at night, and the daytime highs are reasonable. and a lot of rain. my summers were getting very slippy in the wet. if you have very hard compound summers, i would put the winters on sooner.
