245/50r17 fit oem sedan 17 wheels?

Will 245/50/17 tires fit on the oem 17x7 sedan sport wheels? Is this too wide a tire for that rim?

Check the specs for the tire in question. You'll see that 7" is the minimum rim width, so you're okay.

245/45 requires a 7.5", but we have at least one member running that on the stock rims.

I'd worry more about it rubbing the suspension components in the front than fitting the rim, but it's probably okay.

Not much that I can see in the way of tire choices in that size. What are you planning to run?

Tirerack has the BF Goodrich Comp TA HR4 on sale right now. Can't find the specs on the tire as it is not made any longer.

What is it you're looking for in a tire? Less noise/more comfortable? Or higher performance? Or just cheaper?

Better performance, wider track. I was planning on getting Michelin Pilots A/S in 235-50-17, but they are twice the cost og the comp tas.

Did you end up getting the 245/50/17s? If so, how did the ride quality change from the stock tires?
