saggy TEIN basic coilovers

Hey guys, got the car aligned a few days ago and I noticed yesterday that the car is about a half inch lower on the left rear side. I took off the wheels to measure the height settings and they all matchup. You can fit about 2 fingers widths in the left side wheel gap and 3 fingers in the right wheel gap. Is it due to alignment or do the springs need to be changed out? Not sure where to go from here. Anyone have a problem like this before? Thanks in advance for the feedback - bobby

I also installed the TEIN basic about 1 month ago and found the same problem. I have 20's so after lowering it, i measured 1 finger in the back left, and 1 1/2 back right. I noticed it even stock height before the springs and having the rims. I have yet to figure it out.

haha, I have the same problem, but I have the HKS LS coilovers. The driver side is lower then the passenger side. I talked to some people on this board and they couldn't figure out the problem as well.

Re: saggy TEIN basic coilovers

its because we sit on that side, and the springs tend to sag (allthough faster than i have seen on other cars). the majority of the time, you drive by yourself.

my drivers side is about 1/4" lower too.

My Chevelle has had the same issue...in 35 years the manufacturers still can solve this issue and they claim to have progressed so far from the early days of motoring.

Re: saggy TEIN basic coilovers

I know it seems blatantly obvious, but why not just adjust the offending side to match the desired/proper ride height?

P.S... bkchang... That "tard" animation is the funniest thing I've ever seen.

Re: saggy TEIN basic coilovers

Sounds like apossible solution but not for my Chevelle. I had to change everything to polys and replace all suspension pieces with new-Hotchkis units. It has a nice stance now but you WILL scrape the headers-4 inch collectors hang low.

Re: saggy TEIN basic coilovers

Has anyone ever tried to extend the saggy coilover to match the rest? Would it throw off the alignment? For those who have had a saggy coilover, have you noticed uneven tire wear to the tires? This is really bothering me

Re: saggy TEIN basic coilovers

Sorry, I just left it the way it is. As for checking if there is any uneven tire wear...i hardly drive my car to even notice it. I don't know if anyone else would comment.

I have the same sag.I took a wooden bat and rolled my rear fender on the drivers side.I guess its the springs settling.I'm just going to wait a bit and re-check the alignment.

Re: saggy TEIN basic coilovers

I don't know if you guys notice, but I had to crank the passenger side way lower then the driver side for both to match up. I don't know if this is the manufactures fault or the car since steven (g35mt) had the same problem on his coupe.
