iforged aero bent

i bent one of my rims on a pothole last night. I called Wheels America to see if they can fix it. Does anyone have experience with them? Has anyone fixed a bent rim successfully?

Re: iforged aero bent

I've used WA a few times with rims off my old M3 and my truck. They do excellent work - I have no complaints!

Another good shop is Wheel Collision Center in Bath, PA. I've had friends of mine who have used them and they too rave about their service.

I guess for you it will come down to where you're located. WA has centers all across the US, vs WCC who's only located in PA.

I for one have used WA simply because one of thier locations is not even 15min away from me, and being thay've always gotten my rims back in 24hrs or less, I've never bothered sending my rims anywhere else.

Thats cake! No worries G35! Easy fix bro! Hey which location are you going too? I go to the Farmingdale one (right behind Adventure Land off Route 110). If you need help getting there, drop me a PM.

Update on bent rim

I took the rim to Wheels America yesterday, but they said that they wouldn't be able to fix it. They said the lip is hollow so if they heat it up, it would just collapse and deform. So I just ordered a new wheel from iforged. Until then I will be riding on this bent rim. It's been okay. It isnt losing air and isn't vibrating at all. Do u guys think its okay to drive on it until I get the new one?

Re: Update on bent rim

Why dont you just send the wheel to Iforged and tell them to put a new lip on it? Arent the wheels multi-piece? I would think that would be a lot cheaper than just getting a new wheel...

Re: Update on bent rim

I know that they can do that but it takes 4 weeks turnaround for it. I don't want to ride with 3 19s and 1 17 inch rim for that long. I think I will send it back when I get the new rim. After this incident I think its good to have an extra one.

Re: Update on bent rim

Holy crap, 4 weeks? What the heck takes so long? I would expect better service from an "higher end" wheel manufacturer.

Yeah, in that case it would make sense to get the other wheel.

Re: Update on bent rim

This is the very reason that I will never part with my factory rims. I always upgrade to bigger and better wheels but If you ever have a problem like this and you've sold your factories, your only option is the donut.

Re: Update on bent rim

i acturally have a set of 17s that I bought for the winter so I wouldnt have to use the donut, but I just dont want to ride with 3 19s and a 17.

Re: iforged aero bent

Stopped by the iforged factory last friday to look at their wheels. Asked the guy about any strength, bending problems etc. He said one could hit a curb at 100 mph and not damage the rim.

Maybe there is a way you could work with the factory for a replacement outer rim, isn't that the purpose of the two piece design. They seemed reasonable when I was there.
