Re: Cooper Zeon 2XS Tire?

I have these. After getting the right rear patched and blowing out the left rear, I wanted to go to a cheaper tire to see how they would work.

The pro's are that they are dirt cheap for 245/45 Z rated 18's. I got them for $130/ea. They're also quieter than the stock Michelin Sport's, and have a higher tread wear rating. The sidewall is not as aggressive looking as the Sports, and the tread pattern looks to be the same.

BUT, I get the SLIP light much more now, even on the slightest little turns. The only thing I see different in the specs from these to the Sports is that the overall diameter is a little bigger by about an inch which might account for the SLIP light coming on? I don't know for sure.

I would say that these are a great around town tire, they have decent grip and a better ride than the Sports. If it weren't for that damn SLIP light coming on sporadically I would recommend them %100.

I agree, but if I can get a tire that performs the same or better than the Sports but at half the price, why not get them?

I am also considering getting these tires or the Yokohama’s AVS ES 100 from tirerack for 168 each for the rear. I cant decide.

I've run Cooper Tires on a previous car (Civic). They were fine, a bit loud, but ok.

Give the Zeon 2XS a try, you get the 45 day free road test, and if you don't like them after 1.5 months, return them and get something else.
