anyone have a suggestion to quiet down this noisy beast?
Performance is not a requirement.

Re: Quiet Tires

Which noisy beast, the coupe or the sedan? What tires do you have on it now?

Re: Quiet Tires

And which tires came on your sedan?

Goodyear Eagle GS-D
Goodyear Eagle RS-A
Bridgestone Turanza EL42

If it's not the Turanza's, try those. Much quieter than either of the oem Goodyears.

If that's not good enough, you can get Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires in 235/50R17, which fits on the stock rims just fine. That tire won't even compromise the performance much to give you a quieter ride. (Or so I hear from the forum members that have them.)

Re: Quiet Tires

Hey dude. Check these out. They are new from Goodyear. Go with the 225/55/17's They are a good size for ABS, etc and will offer more of a contact patch. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....nce+ComforTred

Re: Quiet Tires

I hear (from others that have them) that the RS-A's are extremely noisy, so just about anything ought to be better in comparison.

Re: Quiet Tires

That's actually the tire I'm looking at (Eagle F1 GS-D3).. in 225/55R17. I didn't even think to look at it's noise levels, because for me, performance is a requirement. Plus, if you buy 4 of them before April 10th, Goodyear is currently offering a $75 free gas card.

Re: Quiet Tires

I plan on replacing the POS EL42's on my sedan with Turanza LS-Z's in 235/50-17. Originally I had planned on replacing them with Conti Premiercontact's in 225/55-17, but based on Tirerack's customer responces, the LSV's rate the highest in road noise and ride of any tire in that size. They were originally made for luxury cars like the LS430, where ride is everything.
As I see it, ANYTHING has got to be better than my stock tires.
