Front spacers/35 series in the rear?

I just bought some 18 x 9 inch wheels for my G35 Coupe. The offset is 45 mm so I am going to need some spacers for the front. Right now they rub the knuckle but must pulling the wheel out about 1/4 of an inch stops the rubbing. But when I measure the difference between the stock 18 x 8 and the new wheel there is about an inch difference in the offset. Can I get by with just putting a 5/16 or 1/2 inch spacer in? I was wanting to put 245/40/18s in the front and 265/40/18s in the rear but I see that Kumho and Nexen don't make a 265/40/18 or even a 255 or 275 40/18. But I do see some 265/35/18s or 275/35/18s in those brands. Has anyone used that wide of a tire in the rear? Thanks for any help.
