front/rear wheel difference

I have factory 18" wheels. I am planning to use the same size tires on the front and rear. My intention is to double the life of my tires by being able to rotate them front to rear, rear to front. Does anyone know if there's a difference between the front and rear wheels? Thank you.

Yes, the front wheel has a hole in it that matches the bolt sticking out of the front rotor, which is there to keep you from putting the rear rims on the front of the car. Remove the bolt and you're good.

Re: front/rear wheel difference

Using the rear wheels on the front wont, but using the same size tires on both ends will in fact cause VDC issues.

Re: front/rear wheel difference

People have done same-size tires for winter driving. There is some play in the VDC program.. so you probably won't have trouble under normal driving. However, in panic situations or aggressive driving, depending on what's happening, the system is going to interpret the difference between the front/rear wheelsd as a little off of the expected with stock tires sizes, so the system may engage earlier or later than it normally would. But the system is designed with some play in mind.. otherwise there'd be a big fat warning in the owner's manual that required the stock tire sizes.
