Second Set of Wheels for Racing - Help!

I did some autocrossing in my old car, and the autocross/track day season is going to heat up (for me at least) over the summer. I've got a few autocross events and track days at Texas World Speedway. However, racing has a knack for eating up tires and I've heard our Bridgestones (08 G35S) don't have a great tread life anyway.

Any recommendations for a second set of wheels/tires? Possibly a light-weight 17/18 inch wheel/tire combo that will offer good performance at a non-ridiculous price.

Please throw in your 2 cents or let me know if you've purchased a second set of wheels!

If you're serious about auto-x, I"d say some lightweight enkei rpf1 17x9+ with some kumho v710's as wide as you can fit under the fenders without rubbing.

Depends on your price range. If you are looking for new ones, hop onto tire rack, they have some light wheels starting at ~$120 per wheel. 17" will offer the best choice in tires, at the best price.

I personally just picked up a used set of 17" 350Z wheels. Got them for $400 with practically new tires on them. If you are only going to the track with them, does it really matter what they look like?
