Painting wheels Help!!!
Hey guys,
Im tring to paint the front of my sevas s-55 wheels and leave the sides black like alot of the newer more expensive rims have. However my body shop and I cant figure out how to get a clean straight line on the edge of the spoke. We tried using tape and hands but its real sloppy. How do the wheel shops do this?
Here is a link of as pic of s-55 painted red so you get idea of what im going for

take it to a wheel repair/paint shop. They should specialize in all that kind of work. My body shop directed me to this great company in the area.. they even come to your location to do it (spray booth and other machinery in their trucks).
I've seen photo's of a shop doing this. They used tape. Probably an exacto knife. Then clear over the top.
You might try some thin tape like pinstriping tape to create the edge for painting then painter masking tape over the rest of the wheel. Don't spray too heavily, otherwise the paint may flake off or peel along the tape stripe. Then clear coat.
