HELP! Installing Wheels PROBLEM!

I am trying to install some aftermarket wheels on my '03 coupe w/ factory 18"s.

PROBLEM: When I took off the right front wheel I noticed that there is a brass colored post coming out of the brake disc hat right between two of the wheel mounting lugs. It appears to be a solid metal post that is screwed into the disc hat.

The factory wheel hub is mounting area is hollowed out so it fits "around" this post but my aftermarket wheels do not have a cut out for this extra post...

QUESTION:What is this extra post and can I remove it?

It's only there so that no one mistakenly tries to rotate the tires from front to back on the stock setup since it's a staggered tire width setup. Sorta stupid because all four OEM 18's are exactly the same (18x8.0 +30) except for that small indentation on the two fronts. But, then again, VDC and such are calibrated with the F/R bias in mind.

Anyhow, unscrew that bolt, and it should come off.

Actually i think the 18's are staggered, but its mainly for the coupe 19's because i know for a fact those are staggered.

Nope, they're 18x8.0 +30 all around. Coupe 19's are 19x8.0 +30 and 19x8.5 +33

The only thing staggered on the 18's is the tire size. The wheels themselves are the exact same size.

Ya they didn't want people rotating their tires and putting the 245's on the front and the 225's on the back

Just unbolt it, it doesn't do anything once you have aftermarket wheels on.
