will sevas crack?

hey so i live in california near the unversity of california santa barbara. some of the roads can be pretty harsh here pothole wise but the speed limit where all this happens is like 25mph (and you have to do 25 considering there is a cop every 500ft). pretty much im looking to get the sevas s55's with the silver center and chrome lip this summer (to match my BS 04 coupe). the s55's only come in 20's and considering my budget i was wondering if anybody think they would crack or if i will be alright?
considering the budget i wouldnt want to have to replace rims all the time... so yeah let me know. thanks guys

they should hold up, if you know your roads suck get some beefier tires, if you're on a budget 20s aren't so bad on the bright side tires are cheaper for 20s than 19s

Don't quote me but i think any wheel has a chance of cracking but sevas got a bad rep for that, because ive heard of at least 3 incidents where they did. Just drive smart and dodge things that might be questionable to the health of your wheels i do things that normal drivers dont, i'll swerve out of the entire lane to protect my wheels/car.

yes sevas cracking has been talked about on this forum. sevas has a site sponsor who is actively engaged in those quality issues. but as stated before, avoid any areas that'll jack up your wheels.

They have been "known" to crack, but that does not mean they will.

For the record, i've only seen the s55 complaints of cracking here. IMO, Just by looking at it, the twin 5 spokes are just too skinny to handle 20's, especially since it's cast. It should be forged to have a design and size like that. So it's not necessarily sevas, but just the s55's.

Dont get me wrong, I still get tempted to buy them 'cause they look so nice.
