Best size tires to upgrade 17" OEM rims

I am going to have to replace my stock 215/55/17 tires (03.5 G35) soon and I want to go to a different size because there are only a few tires available in that size. The sizes I am thinking about are below.

225/45/17- Really wanted to go with this size as it has the most options but the diameter is like 5% bigger on this tire so not sure if there will be fitment problems.

225/50/17-The diameter is almost the same size as the stock but the selection isn't as good

235/45/17-This size has a lot of options but not sure if a 235 will fit on the stock rim and also the diameter is 4% bigger then the stock tire and I know ideally you want to stay with 3%.

Let me know your thoughts, experiences, and other recommendations!

I don't know how you are doing your math, but 225/45/17 and 245/45/17 are both shorter in diameter compared to stock not taller

I was using a tire comparison guide on the web. The numbers seemed odd to me but they said the tires diameter was larger. So I am not sure....

Any other recommendation on tires?
