Rims Flaking

Well I have had my car for 4 months now and 2 weeks ago I noticed whilst washing the car that paint started coming off the rims, I just thought nothing of it at the time as it was just a little but the next week it was just missing patches everywhere and on all 4 rims.
I took it in and they looked at it and were like do you wash your car wth any acid, I was like no way so they took pics and sent them in to head office. Found out yesterday that they are going to give me 4 new rims. Just wondering if anyone else had any issues with this kind of problem.

Re: Rims Flaking

One of my front rims has flaked on me. Next time I take it in for an oil change, I'll have the service department have a look. I never thought that this would be a covered item. Thanks for the tip, maybe it will pay off for me.

Re: Rims Flaking

My stock 6 spoke wheels have not flaked any paint, and it
was bought March, 2002. The build quality must have
deteriorated since!

Well the manager said it was the first time he has ever seen this happen in 11 years at Infinti so I hope it's a one off.

Re: Rims Flaking

Yes, I had that issue with my Coupe ( i have the sport package with the 18" Chrome 7 spokes) and they replaced the rim that flaked. They said it was poor chroming.

2 G or NOT 2 G, there is no question!
