new 20's--tire sizes??

I got some msr 20x8.5 and 20x10 gloss black/polished lip put on by a local speed shop, and looking at the tires sizes, they put falken 452's 245/40/20 fronts and 255/35/20 rears. Do those sizes seem odd? Shouldn't the fronts be 245/35/20 to keep it uniform and say 275/35/20 rears-- (the rear tires dont look wide enough on the rim)

Thanks for any input

All of those choices are wrong. You should be running 245/30/20 front and 275/30/20 rear

This or 285 rear. 40 series on the front is holy crap wrong.

255/30/20 or 285/30/20 would all be good substitutes f/r, I was basing my rec on the widths the OP posted originally

Thanks for the input guys, I'll go back up there to see if they can swap me for different sizes. Keep in mind, I'm using it as a daily driver year-round; so also, I don't think I want the tires too thin...(St.Louis is notorious for potholes too ). The rear looks thin enough with the 35 series, just needs to be wider. Maybe if they run the 35's in the front, and some wider ones in the back that's all i need...
Aren't the 30 series very thin????

Thanks!

If your worried about the potholes then just go 35 instead of 30. I got 245/35/20 f 285/35/20 r, and I'm happy with them

sweet! thanks for the input. i just dropped it back off to get 245/35/20 f and 275/35/20 r, they were worried about rubbing issues thats why i didnt go with 285's in the back.
what do u do in the winter, swap wheels?
i have a feeling those falkens are summer tires

35 series are a bad idea. Not only did the 20's make you slower already, but the added diameter will throw off your speedometer/odometer, and will make your effective gearing longer hurting your acceleration even more. Way too many negatives there IMO to justify those sizes, you should have gone with 19's if you were so worried about those things

how about having 35's in the fronts and 30's in the back? would that be mismatched? also i'm a noob at all this, whats the diff between the 275 and 285 widths for the back??
