Can't decide on tire brand!

Help! I'm going crazy deciding on what brand of tire to buy for my new Axis Milano wheels. They are 19x8.5 in front and 19x9.5 in the back. I know I want to go with 245/35/19 tires in front and 275/35/19 tires in the back, but I don't know what brand of tires to get. From shopping around, I know that Michelin Pilot's, Dunlop SP9000's, and Toyo Proxes' are all probably the best tires for my money that are available in the sizes I want. But, having never bought tires before, I want to know which of the tires will last the longest, provide the best ride quality, and have the lowest amount of road noise. I don't autocross or anything so high-end performance is not the first priority (as long as they are safe).

I've read so many different opinions here and elsewhere that I'm going crazy. I just want specific answers to my specific question from all of you experts here, because you guys really do seem to know what you're talking about. Thanks for the help!

Check out the Falken Azenis ST-115. High treadwear rating, and is designed for low road noise.

Re: Can't decide on tire brand!

I'm kind of having the same problem. I'm ready to buy my wheels (19" Volk GT-7) and coil-overs (Tein CS).. but with the tires I want, Bridgestone SO3 Pole Positions, it's a bit pricey. Michelins are even more expensive! I'm curious to know if anyone's heard anything about Fuzion tires. They're made by Bridgestone/Firestone, but they're very affordable, for example the 275/30/19 Fuzion ZR-I tire is about $100 less than a Bridgestone SO3. I usually don't skimp on tires, but since I'm buying the rims, tires, and coilovers all at once, it's a little hard on the bank account. After the first set of tires wear out, then I'll splurge and get a better set.

Has anyone heard anything about Fuzion tires? Are they considered "cheapo" (i.e. Nitto, Kumho)?

Honestly go to www.tirerack.com.

You can compare tires. I did that. Honestly the best bang for you buck is the potenza S-03. Those are the best. They grip like crazy and the tread lasts pretty good.

Look into those.

Re: Can't decide on tire brand!

I got Toyo T1s' on my 19" Volk SF Challenge shoes. They perform well, and as far as road noise goes, what is that! I aint got much! These tires are great.

Saturday (5/8/04) I saw this: Yokohamas ADVAN A048 on a 323 BMW 19" in size.
What's the pro's and con's if I was to get it for my G coupe?

Re: Can't decide on tire brand!

You'll get Lots and Lots of advice here. Mine, get the Dunlop SP9000s. I believe it has the best cost/performance ratio out there. I have a set on my Nismos, and they handle just geat, IMO. They are also very quite for a tire of this type.

Re: Can't decide on tire brand!

hey HipHopPro, those tires are for competitive use only. The tread wont last as long as you would like. I just looked for it on www.tirerack.com and they didnt have their usual specs on it such as,
1. Dry Traction
2. Cornering Stability

etc... etc.

Go check it out.

Re: Can't decide on tire brand!

Thanks for the comments everybody, keep 'em coming! From the sounds of it, I can't go wrong, because everybody seems to love whatever tire they have on their car! :P Does anybody have anything bad to say about a particular tire? Is there any brand that you would never drive on?
