Chrome on Gs...

I'm starting to think about some wheels, maybe some Work Varianzas...

Anyhow, I've noticed that alot (if not perhaps the majority) of coupe owners think full chrome is tacky and unclassy on a G coupe.

That being said, would anyone do a full chrome setup? I have to be honest, I won't be doing boost for awhile, so this will be purely aesthetic (some obviously buy their wheels for pure functionality, ie light weight racing).

Are they super tacky though? I'm on the fence, I can certainly see how all chrome wheels can be pretty gross, but have seen the rare few that actually look good, with class and distinction.

What would you do? Silver? Black? Painted? I have a DG coupe, and have seen silver, black and chrome. Any other ideas?

I'm out like a fat kid in dodgeball, PEACE!

Should've listed fully polished as well. If you might be leaning towards chrome then polished is a great option.

What color is your G? Color being important due to the fact that black rims would look fugly on a lazer red coupe. Chrome would look good on any color as well as the polished/silver look. I have seen some black coupes with Chrome Iforged Aeros and it looks SICK! Seen Ivory Pearl with Gold 20's look hot as well.....

I have a sedan and just added chrome 18" Coupe 7 spokes. My combo of Slate with chrome wheels looks sweet.

I have seen a IP coupe with chrome 7 spokes and it looked sweet as well.

Cheap? Tell that to the people that scope out my G at traffic lights and stop to admire my G at parking lots.

It's up all up to you. Yes, the chromes are heavy, but I have perfect driving record and do not plan on street racing anyways. I'm not into the look of these painted wheels, but maybe you are. Do what is right for your taste, not others!

^not really. I waxed mine before install and the brake dust wipes off with simple soap and water. I wash the wheels once a week and add some polish every two to three weeks. The problem with chrome and brake dust is the pitting that occurs if you don't keep them up. Once the pitting starts you have no options to fix the problem. Similiar are lips that are cleared, once the brake dust eats into the clear, you'll have to strip them and polish. Either way, you need to keep your wheels clean with the amount of brake dust these cars generate.

Nice looking wheels! I prefer the GT-F's and the Maya's on your car.

I'm curious about this myself. I used to have an RSX, chrome would definitely look out of place on that car, but the G35 is different. I think that it could easily be done tastefully. Any one running these? I'd like to see what they look like on black or graphite.

full chrome doesn't look good IMO. Chrome lips looks nice though. you can get the centers done in center, black, whatever color you want - the chrome lips will create a nice reflection.
